Now you can have soda without sabotaging your health!
I'm always on the hunt for innovative products and companies who are willing to break the "norm" barrier. Walking the isle of my local health food store, I discovered ZEVIA! It sounded like stevia so I investigated the label looking for shortcomings (think Hansen's).
To my total surprise it was perfect. No grocery store fat traps, no calories and no preservatives! I quickly moved to the taste test.
I popped a can open - even before paying for it - and gave it to my seven year old. Her eyes widened and she protested, "No way, that's soda Papa!" I assured her it was a healthy one and that she could have it. She loved it. Case closed.
I called the company the next day and they graciously agreed to an exclusive interview...and after learning how intelligent my readers and subscribers are, they offered a discount code to anyone who orders their favorite flavored soda at https://store.zevia.com. Hurry and take advantage of the offer. After reading this exclusive interview, visit the link above and use "thepeopleschemist" coupon code upon checkout. Enjoy! - The People's Chemist

TPC: What is Zevia?
Derek Newman: Zevia is Nature’s answer to diet soda. The first and only all natural sugar free alternative to diet soda. It’s the only full flavored carbonated beverage that is all natural and "diet."
Ian Eisenberg: Zevia is the only 0 calorie alternative to diet soda that does not contain aspartame or Splenda. Everything from the flavorings to the colorings are 100% natural. There is absolutely nothing artificial or harmful.
TPC: How is that different than other natural diet sodas?
Derek Newman: There are no other natural diet sodas. There are natural sodas, but they contain cane sugar full of calories. Even Hansen doesn't have a natural diet soda. They have a diet version of their soda but it uses Splenda which made from chlorinated atoms fused together in a lab.

TPC: I’ve noticed that the founders have diverse backgrounds but no experience in food or beverage; how did Zevia get started?
Jessica Newman: We started Zevia because of our own personal need to fill a serious void in our own lives. Ian and I were drinking a six pack per day. It was out guilty pleasure. Derek was worried about my health; and Ian was looking for a natural alternative for his family (his boys loved pop).
Ian Eisenberg: I am not a water fan. I drink it in the gym but that's about it. I was living on Fresca and Diet Coke. I knew it was bad for me but wasn’t sure about just how bad it was. Researching it and learning about natural options was a real eye opener for me. It made me analyze everything I was consuming and forced me to make some real lifestyle changes.
TPC: Do you let your kids drink as much Zevia as they want?
Jessica Newman: Yes, of course. They like Zevia better than candy, and I feel good about giving it to them.
Ian Eisenberg: Ditto that. We do draw the line about putting it in a sippy cup though (laughs).
TPC: Considering your backgrounds, isn’t it daunting to be up against Coke and Pepsi in the marketplace?
Derek Newman: No. We have built a great team of experienced professionals. We have a product that Coke and Pepsi do not. People across the country are loving Zevia, in a way that Coke and Pepsi should envy. Really, we don’t worry about them; we just focus on building our brand and getting the word out.
Ian Eisenberg: The majors have unparalled distribution networks. We are working with established natural food brokers and distributors that are as passionate about Zevia as we are. Consumers love the product. It is our mission to educate more and more people and convert them to Zevia.
Jessica Newman: There is a real need to help people Kick the Diet Soda Habit! It is a crusade.
TPC: What is the future of Zevia?
Ian Eisenberg: The Zevia brand will be a household name. You will find Zevia on shelves in all the major grocery stores across the country. Zevia’s momentum is building and to use a cliché we are really at the “tipping point” and are experiencing explosive growth.
